Apple TV 4K is now official. The latest streaming device from the Cupertino-based tech giant comes with support for HDR10+, Apple TV+, Apple Music and Apple Arcade. Amazon also offers a similar streaming device which comes at a more affordable price. The Amazon Fire TV Cube was first introduced in 2018 and a new model was launched in 2021. Amazon has also launched the 3rd generation of Fire TV Cube but it is not available for purchase yet.

The 2022 Apple TV 4K is available in two variants: Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi+Ethernet. The Wi-Fi-only model comes with 64GB of internal storage and is priced at Rs 14,900. The Wi-Fi+Ethernet option offers 128GB of storage and comes with a price tag of Rs 16,900. Customers can pre-order both models at Apple’s website and the new streaming device will start shipping on November 4.
On the other hand, Amazon’s fastest and most powerful Fire TV streaming device, the Amazon Fire TV Cube 2021, is currently available on the e-tailer giant’s website. This streaming device offers 16GB of storage and is available at Rs 6,999. The company is offering an extra Rs 1000 discount coupon on this device as a part of the ongoing Amazon Great Indian Festival sale.

The latest Apple TV 4K is powered by the A15 Bionic processor and ships with a new Siri Remote that supports USB-C charging. Meanwhile, the Amazon Fire TV Cube boasts an unnamed Hexa-core processor and comes with the Alexa Voice Remote that supports hands-free operation.
Apple claims that the CPU performance has increased by 50% compared to the last Apple TV 4K model. The new CPU offers better responsiveness, smoother navigation and improved UI animations. The company also claims that GPU performance has increased by up to 30% which offers a better gameplay experience.
According to Amazon, the 2021 Fire TV Cube is the fastest and the most powerful Fire TV streaming device. The Fire TV Cube can also control a wide range of IR-enabled devices, including TVs, soundbars, cable and satellite boxes.
Both devices allow users to stream 4K Ultra HD content at 60fps and supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. Moreover, Apple TV 4K also supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital (both 7.1 and 5.1) surround sound for immersive audio. While Fire TV Cube supports Dolby Atmos, 7.1 surround sound, 2-channel stereo and HDMI audio pass-through up to 5.1.

In both cases, the user needs to have a separate HDMI cable to connect these devices to their TVs. Neither the Apple TV 4K nor the Amazon Fire TV Cube ships with HDMI cables.
The new Siri remote comes with a touch-enabled click pad that helps in easy navigation of tvOS. Meanwhile, the Alexa Voice remote also has a touchpad and several other buttons with various functionalities. Both remotes offer voice-control features.
