Ash Barty’s great mate Casey Dellacqua believes the Barty camp will be formulating a plan on how to “break down” Danielle Collins’ forehand.

Barty has played a number of explosive hitters in her run to tonight’s final, including the likes of Amanda Anisimova and Camila Giorgi, and Dellacqua believes her game plan for tonight shouldn’t deviate too much from what she’s deployed previously.

“I think it’ll be very similar to a lot of the big hitters she’s played. They’re going to use the sliced backhand,” Dellacqua told Wide World of Sports’ The Morning Serve.

“Ash will be really clear on which spots she wants to serve. They are going to try and break down the forehand of Collins and get her moving.

“One thing she always does is that she controls her service games and that will also be a number one focus.”

However, former Australian pro believes Collins is a dangerous opponent for the world No.1 tonight.

Collins’ health struggles over the last 12 months have been well-documented, particularly the American’s battle with endometriosis.

Dokic believes overcoming off-court health issues have allowed Collins to play with somewhat of a newfound freedom.

“She’s gone through a lot and she’s talked about how hard that was, not only physically, but psychologically as well,” Dokic told The Morning Serve.

“I think what she’s had to go through has just made her so tough.

“When you’ve got health issues like that and you’re able to recover and train and come back, you actually have nothing to lose, that’s the type of tennis she’s playing.

“She’s playing really freely because she was struggling so much. Being back on court and even training for her a big bonus.”
