Ashish Dhawan stock portfolio: Ashish Dhawan sells 21.25 lakh shares of this underperforming smallcap

New Delhi: Seasoned investor Ashish Dhawan, who bought HSIL in December 2020, has now booked partial profits in the stock. The latest regulatory filing shows Dhawan held 9,74,723 equity shares or 1.51 per cent stake in the company on December 31, 2021.

Dhawan sold 21,25,227 shares during the quarter as he was holding 31,00,000 equity shares or 4.79 per cent stake in September 2021 quarter.

Following the update, shares of HSIL dropped a per cent to Rs 231.20, before recovering to trade at Rs 232.70 at 10.40 am on Thursday. The scrip settled at Rs 234.20 on Wednesday.

BSE barometer and benchmark Sensex was trading 101.01 points or 0.17 per cent lower at 61,049.03 at the time of writing this report.

HSIL is a glass container manufacturing company having a diverse product range including water closets, washbasins, faucets, bathtubs, showers, shower enclosures and vanities.

Shares of HSIL have zoomed about 100 per cent in the last one year, but the scrip has underperformed in the last three, five and 10 years.

However, Dhawan has stayed put in two companies – Birlasoft and Quess Corp. Other companies included in his portfolio have not disclosed their holdings thus far. Dhawan publicly holds 16 stocks with a net worth of over Rs 2,376.2 crore, Trendlyne data suggests.
