Assassin Creed Multiplayer is in the works as ‘Project Invictus’ as Ubisoft Releases FY23 Earnings Call

Ubisoft has just revealed their FY23 earnings call with some exciting details present in it. One of the first things that players will notice is that Ubisoft has observed outperformance for 2 of their top franchises, Assassin’s Creed and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.

Rainbow Six Siege has observed a whopping 85 million unique players registered and it has seen a growth of 18% in year-on-year revenue. This is due to the increased player engagement and a new record of daily average revenue per user. This is the second consecutive year for Rainbow Six Siege’s strong year-on-year growth.

Assassin’s Creed has seen strong performances across several titles from the franchise, namely Odyssey, Origins and Valhalla. The franchise has a new record number of active players and Valhalla on the other hand has crossed a staggering 20 million unique players. They have also observed enthusiastic responses from fans for their upcoming projects, mostly AAA titles like Assassins Creed Mirage and the Japan-based Assassins Creed game, ‘Codename Red’.

Coming to the more exciting topic, another interesting detail outlined in Ubisoft’s earnings call revolved around the Assassins Creed franchise. This time around, a multiplayer game is in the works, and it has been codenamed, ‘Project Invictus’. Multiplayer was last seen in the franchise back in 2014 with Assassins Creed Unity.

Moreover, a team of For Honor veterans will be working on this project to bring the players a standalone experience through Infinity. In the words of Vice President and executive producer of Assassin’s Creed, Marc-Alexis Côté, “Infinity is not a game, per-se. It’s going to be the single entry point for our fans into the Assassin’s Creed franchise into the future. Infinity is going to be a hub that will unite all our different experiences and our players together in meaningful ways.” Players are ecstatic about multiplayer coming back to the franchise and are hoping it is executed better this time around.
