With the Russia-Ukraine crisis growing uglier by the day, the gaming and technology fraternity has been plugging away many of their services on the Eastern European front.
With SWIFT banking services banned in Russia, many people have had issues when it comes to doing mundane tasks. Moreover, European and North American tech companies have also stopped their services in light of recent events as well.
The most notable one in recent days has been Netflix, as the company has suspended its services, leaving over a million subscribers without access to the streaming platform.
However, it’s not just streaming platforms, as two popular gaming developers in Take-Two and Ubisoft have stated their plans to stop their sales in Russia as well.
When it comes to Ubisoft, the French gaming giants have been quiet active at protecting their interests of their employees in Ukraine as mentioned in a recent blog post.
However, the blog post has since received an update, wherein the company announced that they have suspended their sales in Russia.
Other than that, Take-Two Interactive have also revealed their plans to stop sales in the Eastern European country. In an email sent to PC Gamer, Alan Lewis the company’s Vice President of Corporate Communications explained the reasoning behind this decision.
Over the past week, several other developers such as CD Projekt RED have also announced similar plans to halt their sales in countries like Russia and Belarus. In the upcoming days, the community might see more companies join this list as gaming continues to take a huge hit in Eastern European because of the ongoing crisis.
