New research from Booking.com has found the UK’s top destinations for a spring staycation. The leading destination has been described as the “perfect city”.
A Booking.com spokesperson said: “There is no surprise that London is the top destination being booked by UK travellers this spring.
“With numerous activities and sights to do and see, London is a perfect city to visit with friends, family or even solo.”
The capital took the top spot on the list and is the UK’s leading destination for a spring staycation. Spring is the perfect time to explore the capital with a riot of spring flowers across London’s parks.
Richmond Park, Hyde Park and Regent’s Park are some of the best places to see spring blooms and enjoy a picnic.
Edinburgh took third place on the list and Booking.com recommends tourists check out the city’s buzzing theatre district.
Liverpool took fourth place and with the city soon to host Eurovision, April could be the perfect time to visit. Tourists will find prices soar in May while the contest is hosted.
Glasgow also found a place on the list and is home to the Scottish ballet, opera and the national theatre.
A Booking.com spokesperson said: “The city’s iconic architecture and the famous shipbuilding docks which the city was built around is a sight to behold and a must see.”
