Buffalo Bills cornerback Dane Jackson taken to hospital with neck injury, ambulance on field

The Buffalo Bills cruised to an easy win on over the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday (AEST), but it was soured by the loss of cornerback Dane Jackson, who was carted off the field.

During the second quarter of Buffalo’s 41-7 victory, both Jackson and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds dived in for an attempted tackle on Titans’ receiver Treylon Burks.

But Edmunds dived over the top of the ball carrier, his helmet crashing into that of Jackson – driving the smaller man’s head and neck backwards.

Nearly 10 minutes passed as Jackson received treatment, before an ambulance drove onto the field to take him to the nearby Erie County Medical Center.

The team said Jackson had full movement in his limbs, and was getting a CT scan and x-ray.

Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen was close to perfect, completing 26 of 38 attempts for 317 yards and four touchdowns before sitting out the entire fourth quarter with the result secured.

Star pass catcher Stefon Diggs had 12 catches for 148 yards and three touchdowns.

The Bills are red-hot Super Bowl favourites with plenty of fans and experts, and could not have started the season better, blowing the current champions off the park last week before this emphatic win.

They’ll face Miami in their next game, who are fresh off one of the best wins in team history when they came from 21 points down in the fourth quarter to shock the Baltimore Ravens.
