Indian markets started on a strong note on Friday tracking positive trends seen in other Asian markets. The S&P BSE Sensex rose more than 400 points while the Nifty50 rose above 17600 levels in the first 15 minutes of trade.

Sectorally, buying was seen in metals, consumer durables, IT, utilities, and capital goods.

Highest new OI (open interest) addition was seen at 18,000 for Calls and 17,300 for Puts in weekly and at 18,000 for Calls and 17,300 for Puts in monthly contracts.

Bulls remain firmly in control of D-Street as benchmark indices managed to close above crucial support levels so far in the week.

“Though the approach to 17,730 exposed vulnerability on anticipated lines, upside prospects, remain alive as long as above 17,550 on a closing basis,” Anand James – Chief Market Strategist at

, said.

“The day’s positive bias could be lost though if Nifty slips below 176,40. Repeat breach of 17,500 could call for 17,000,” he said.
