Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has run into a real life hotel problem

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is courting a bit of a controversy with its Amsterdam map Breenbergh Hotel as the real life hotel the map is probably based on has expressed its displeasure. The hotel is unhappy at its “apparent and unwanted involvement” in the loose representation as a map in the game, as per a report by PCGamesN.
The real life hotel is the Conservatorium Hotel and it may even take legal action on the matter, says the report. The hotel seems to be against games that “encourage the use of violence”.
In an interview with De Volkskrant (translated by NL Times), hotel manager Roy Tomassen said,“We have taken note of the fact that the Conservatorium Hotel is undesirably the scene of the new Call of Duty [Modern Warfare 2]. More generally, we don’t support games that seem to encourage the use of violence. The game in no way reflects our core values and we regret our apparent and unwanted involvement.”
Modern Warfare 2 has been embroiled in a similar situation before as its Formula 1 map which was originally called Marina Bay Raceway in the beta version was renamed. For the full game, its name was changed to Crown Raceway to probably avoid potential legal troubles.
According to the report, the Valderas Museum map may have been removed from the main game due to similar issues as it could have been based in the Getty Museum, Los Angeles, California. The map was in beta in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and later removed from the final build.
