Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 released a few days back on October 28, 2022, and it seems the game has been plagued by several launch-day issues. This is normal for any large-scale multiplayer title, as we observed similar launch hiccups for Overwatch 2 as well. One of the main issues that players have been facing are false bans in the game.

According to a report by Insider Gaming, it seems that several players have been complaining about being falsely banned from Modern Warfare 2. As the reports goes, the information gathered from Activision emails state that players have been permanently banned for using unauthorised software and manipulation of game data. According to the research conducted by them, these are the software that players should look towards uninstalling to avoid being banned from the game:

  • Logitech G Hub
  • iCUE
  • Afterburner
  • Razer Synapse 3

Players that wish to appeal their ban can do it through here. Players can also reach out to Tom Henderson directly for this issue.

In other news, a huge bug has been discovered by players that allows them to use wall hacks. Through the bug, players are able to ping an enemy during the death screen and that ping will last the entire game. Through this flaw players are essentially able to use wall hacks on another player for the entirety of the game. According to a report by Eurogamer, the ping system has been disabled for public matches and the feature remains reserved for private matches in order to combat wall hackers.

Moreover, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has not received the best reviews on Steam since launch. According to a report by RockPaperShotgun. It seems that out of all the reviews they have received on Steam, only 58% of them are positive ones. The reason for these negative reviews has been attributed to the bugs and crashes that have plagued the game since launch day.

We already spoke about the ping issue, but there are several others that players might find in the game. One of the notable ones would be the game completely crashing when players are in a party of more than three. Infinity Ward has acknowledged the issue and has provided a fix for it. Another one is where players are experience trouble when running the game on NVIDIA drivers 526.47, Beenox has tweeted that players should revert back to 516.59, or 522.25 drivers until they find a fix.
