Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has apparently injured himself while spurring on second rower Corey Harawira-Naera as he scored his second try in Canberra’s exhilarating comeback win against the Warriors.

In bizarre scenes at GIO Stadium, footage showed Stuart passionately rising from his chair as Harawira-Naera stalked the ball with just over 10 minutes remaining in the second half, before limping forward and bowing over in discomfort.

“He’s an old fossil now mate, he gets some injuries,” Jack Wighton told Fox League postgame.

Speaking to the media afterwards, Stuart revealed he had actually pulled his calf muscle in all the carry-on.

“It was the first game I’ve coached where I’ve pulled up sorer than the players,” he said.

“The excitement got me when Corey Harawira-Naera we went over for his try – I went down – tore a calf.”
