Canberra Raiders vs Manly Sea Eagles; Roosters prop Lindsay Collins faces four-match ban for hip-drop tackle

The Roosters face having fiery prop Lindsay Collins out for a month after he was charged for a hip-drop tackle against the Storm.

The 26-year-old was placed on report in the second-half of his side’s 18-14 win over Melbourne, after the incident saw Tom Eisenhuth leave the field with an ankle injury.

Collins will miss four games with an early guilty plea after being hit with a grade three dangerous contact charge.

Roosters teammate Jared Waerea-Hargreaves was also charged for an incident involving Melbourne’s Nelson Asofa-Solomona, but will avoid suspension with an early plea.

The 33-year-old gave his opposing prop a facial and will cop a $3,000 fine instead of suspension.

Roosters coach Trent Robinson said Waerea-Hargreaves’ sin-binning for the Asofa-Solomona incident was a by-product of the forward trying to have an impact on the game.

“I didn’t know what he got sent for,” Robinson said. “I think it was physical and I remember him [referee Adam Gee] saying if the next one that comes in ‘third man’ that creates that was going to go to the bin.

“The man is physical, and that’s what we love about our game is guys being physical.

“He got down and dirty; it cost him 10 [minutes in the sin bin], but he also set the tone, and that’s what your lead prop does, he sets the tone for a game. Credit to him.”

Waerea-Hargreaves was cleared of high tackles on Cameron Munster and Justin Olam during the heated clash.

Meantime, Asofa-Solomona was charged with grade two dangerous contact and will be fined $3,000 with an early guilty plea.

Victor Radley will also be fined $1800 for a grade one dangerous contact charge on Jahrome Hughes.
