The VIVE XR Elite comes with hand-tracking and full-color RGB pass-through cameras, enabling mixed-reality experiences, such as playing video games with characters that appear in your room and setting up a virtual workstation with multiple screens while still using your physical keyboard and mouse.
HTC’s VIVE headset offers a wide 110-degree field of view and a 4K resolution with a 90Hz refresh rate. It has a built-in adjustable interpupillary distance (IPD) slider and is lightweight at 625g, including the battery. The battery is removable and can be quickly replaced, and the headset can be charged using a fast-charging 30-watt USB-C power delivery.
The VIVE XR Elite improves on the sound stage with larger speakers, claiming to provide a more immersive experience with enhanced bass.
The new mixed-reality headset of HTC allows users to stream PC content wirelessly over Wi-Fi or the latest generation, WiFi 6E, with low latency and high-quality graphics.
It can also be easily connected to a PC via USB-C to access PCVR content from VIVEPORT and Steam. Further, users can stream content from compatible Android smartphones.
The VIVE XR Elite comes with physical controllers, hand-tracking enabled, ensuring accuracy while gaming or working. There is a VIVE Wrist Tracker that can be worn in or attached to things you want to track in the mixed reality environment.
With four wide-field-of-view cameras, exceptional 6DoF spatial accuracy, a depth sensor, hand-tracking, and capacitive sensing for your finger movements on the controllers, users can experience accurate movement into VR and MR content.
At launch, the VIVE XR Elite offers a variety of content, including Demeo, Hubris, YUKI, Maestro: The Masterclass, Les Mills Body Combat, FigminXR, Unplugged: Air Guitar, Finger Gun, and more. The company says that more content will be added upon the launch, including Everslaught: Invasion and, later in the year, full MR games such as Eggscape.
