The previous chapter of Chainsaw Man finally featured Denji, our messed-up superhero who saved Mitaka and Yuko from the Bat Devil. After that, we also witnessed a short yet spectacular battle between Denji and the Cockroach Devil. The community is now thrilled to see his first interaction with the War Devil; however, fans will have to wait one more week to see that happen.
Tatsuki Fujimoto confirmed that Chainsaw Man would follow a weekly release schedule. However, after two consecutive breaks, fans wonder if the manga will go on a bi-monthly schedule. Well, the mangaka hasn’t announced any such change, so it’s safe to assume that Part 2 will go back to its weekly schedule. But, of course, there will always be short hiatuses to give Fujimoto some time to relax.
Since Chainsaw Man is again on a break this week, you’ll not get to read Chapter 103 on August 23rd. The manga will return on Tuesday, August 30th with the next chapter, and you can read it for free on Viz Media and Manga Plus at 8 AM PT (Pacific Timing). Also, since Chainsaw Man only gets a digital release, don’t expect any spoilers before the forthcoming chapter’s official release.
The community is indeed excited to see more of Denji in Chapter 103. Most of all, everyone is eager to see the War Devil’s reaction to the arrival of his biggest enemy – Chainsaw Man. The War Devil wants to hunt down Chainsaw Man, so it’s ironic that its host, Asa Mitaka, was saved by the very man it wants to kill.
Last week’s chapter also gave us more insight into Mitaka’s past. Asa lost her mother during a Devil attack, so she refused to become a murderer at a devil’s command. Instead, she almost throws away her second chance at life to save her only friend. Fortunately, Chainsaw Man arrived at the right moment and saved her life – Even though he didn’t care about collateral while fighting the Cockroach Devil.
Denji didn’t even think about saving other civilians from the Devil, but things accidentally worked out well for Mitaka and Yuko. Also, both characters see Chainsaw Man as a hero (Savior of Cats), so it would be interesting to see them meeting their idol in the next chapter.
