Mumbai U-25 batsmen Omkar Jadhav (89, 9×4, 1×6) and Suved Parkar (72, 5×4, 2×6) stole the show against Vidarbha (37-2) on Day Two of their CK Nayudu Trophy final in Ahmedabad on Monday. The Mumbai colts, who resumed on an overnight score of 226-3, posted a mammoth 468 all out in their first innings.

Thereafter, Mumbai pacer Saksham Jha (1-8) and leg-spinner Khizar Dafedar (1-5) dismissed Vidarbha openers Aman Mokhade (19) and Nayan Chavan (3) respectively. At stumps, one-drop Yash Rathod (6 not out) and nightwatchman Yash Kadam (4 not out) were at the crease with Vidarbha trailing by 431 runs.

Earlier, Vidarbha left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey’s (4-177) quick throw ended Armaan Jaffer’s (85) knock. He managed to add just nine runs to his overnight score. However, Parkar, who resumed on his overnight score of 29, played some well-timed shots to reach 72. He received crucial support from No.7 Jadhav as the duo put on an 85-run sixth-wicket stand. After Parkar departed, Jadhav then stitched together a 82-run partnership with Dafedar (42).

Meanwhile, in Kolkata, the Mumbai U-19 lads were also in a strong position against Maharashtra in the Cooch Behar Trophy semi-final. Riding on captain Musheer Khan’s 134 and fine half-centuries by Angkrish Raghuvanshi (81), Vedprakash Jaiswal (83) and Aayush Zimare (58), Mumbai amassed a total of 472. In reply, Maharashtra were 100-2 at stumps on Day Two.
