Coleen Nolan, 58, opened up about “birth trauma” as she joined fellow panellists Christine Lampard, Jane Moore and Kelle Bryan on Loose Women during Wednesday’s episode.

The TV personality was previously married to Shane Richie and the former couple tied the knot in 1990 but they separated seven years later.

Coleen welcomed sons Shane Jr and Jake Roche with the EastEnders actor.

Speaking on the programme she said: “Shane, funnily enough, when Shane Jr was born, he was traumatised – bless him!

“From seeing me in pain because I think men feel very helpless when there’s nothing they can do but also seeing the birth.”

The Nolan star cheekily admitted after giving birth their sex life changed.

She continued with her typical humour: “So it affected us afterwards – you know what I’m saying…

“It affected us afterwards a bit because every time we went to – you know what I’m saying – he was traumatised because all he could see when he was – you know what I’m saying – was a baby’s head!”

Coleen added: “Sometimes I wish we weren’t on daytime TV!”

The Loose Women panellist went on to discuss her sister Anne’s struggles after she suffered eclampsia (seizures) before the birth.

Anne was given a 30 per cent chance of survival and her organs began to shut down – but luckily in the end both mother and baby Amy were fine.

“She was the first one out of all of us to get pregnant and we were all so excited,” Coleen recalled.

But she said it ended up being “really really traumatic” and changed what should have been a “beautiful moment”.

Coleen also shared that her late sister Bernie – who died in 2013 – had to give birth despite already knowing her baby had died.

The famous sisters – Anne, 71, Denise, 69, Maureen, 67, Linda, 64, Coleen and Bernie – sang together in family pop group The Nolans in the 70s and 80s.

Meanwhile, the on-screen star recently broke down in tears during a heartbreaking appearance on Loose Women last week, after her sister Linda revealed cancer has spread to her brain.

Linda is battling the disease for a third time after sister Bernie died from cancer a decade ago.
