Recently, there were reports that Kartik Aaryan had signed a three-film deal with a leading banner, Eros International for a whopping Rs 75 crores. But today a daily reported that the deal had been put on hold due to creative reasons.
A source revealed to the daily that the leading banner was all excited to collaborate with Kartik Aaryan. Since the actor had big hits like like Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Luka Chuppi and Pati Patni Aur Woh in the recent past, the banner wanted to cash in on his popularity. The negotiations happened with the actor and even profit-sharing terms were discussed. However when the banner revealed to the actor that they didn’t have any projects on hand to narrate, the actor decided to hold back. He thought it wasn’t a good idea to sign a deal without a script on hand. The source said, “The studio had apparently offered him a five-year blind contract wherein the concepts of the films were not provided to him. As a result, the deal has been held off due to creative differences. Both parties hope to pursue the discussion at a later stage.”
The industry has been known for its ‘blind deals’ in the past, where it has lured actors with money. But clearly the young generation has its priorities right. Looks like it is all about content for Kartik, and he picks movies over monies.
