Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry is racing the injury clock to take her place in today’s World Cup final in Christchurch.

The Aussies take on England from 11am (AEST) in the tournament decider.

Perry has been suffering back spasms, and hasn’t played in Australia’s last two games.

The 31-year-old missed the historic Twenty20 World Cup victory at the MCG two years ago through injury, when Australia won in front of 86,000 fans.

“It all comes down to whether she’s able to perform at the level, and if she plays we think she’ll be able to do that,” Aussie captain Meg Lanning said yesterday of Perry.

“It’s looking pretty good at the moment. Given that she got through such a tough session yesterday [Friday] and was able to back it up again today [Saturday] with the bat gives us some good confidence. We’re hoping that it goes in our favour.”

Teams will be revealed at the toss at 10.30am.
