Cruise holiday rage: Cruise passengers complain about ‘insanely loud’ noise on ship | Cruise | Travel

Cruise lines all have their own vibes and some are more suited to partying than others. A guest took to Reddit to complain about loud noise on their holiday.

They said: “Anybody else put off by loud poolside music? I have no problem with the particular music they play, but I wish they would lower the volume a bit.

“I find loud music jarring and this takes away from the relaxation. When the weather is nice, I’d like to take a plate from the buffet and eat outside, but it’s too loud.”

Some cruise ships will play music by the swimming pool during the day to create a fun atmosphere.

However, some guests would rather the pool area be kept quiet so they can relax with a plate of food or a book.

Another guest said:”You’re lucky if there even is any quiet place on board, to just sit, relax, read a book and look out at the ocean.”

They said one ship they went on had a loop of dubstep and drum and bass music “blaring” by the pool.

They added: “Even when the waterslide wasn’t operating. I tried negotiating with guest services to turn it off, but apparently it was beyond their capability.”

The passenger thought that ships had plenty of places to listen to music but very few areas for relaxation.

DON’T MISS

On Channel 5’s The Cruise, a member of staff had to deal with an unsatisfied customer who couldn’t stand the ship’s loud music.

Although the crew member negotiated with the DJ to lower the volume, they couldn’t turn it off completely.

Virgin Voyages is known for its parties and other guests would have been disappointed if the music wasn’t on.

Guests who dislike loud music could look for a quieter cruise or try river cruises which generally don’t play music outside of the nightclub or bar.
