Star Wars sequel trilogy star Daisy Ridley will appear in another Star Wars film set after Rise of Skywalker.

Announced at Star Wars Celebration, the Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy led film will take place 15 years after the events of Rise of Skywalker and star Ridley as the Jedi Master rebuilding the Jedi Order.

“I’ve always been attracted to the hero’s journey and the fact that the world needs many more heroes,” said Sharmeen, who added she’s been immersing herself in a Jedi Academy with a “powerful Jedi master”.

This Jedi Master was immediately revealed to be Ridley. “My heart is pounding,” she said, appearing on stage. “I’m very thrilled to be continuing this journey.”

Three films were confirmed to be in the pipeline and also include one coming from The Mandalorian executive producer Dave Filoni and another from James Mangold.

Ridley was last seen in 2019’s Rise of Skywalker but Rey’s character has been somewhat neglected since, with very few stories in the Star Wars extended universe following up on her story.

These film announcements capped off a very busy Star Wars Celebration, with updates on Andor Season 2, Ahsoka, The Mandalorian, The Acolyte, and more, and you can read about every single announcement right here on IGN.
