Dark Souls 3 Easy Mode Mod Increases Soul Gain, Lowers Damage Taken and Increases Damage Done

An unofficial Dark Souls 3 Easy Mode mod has been released, packing three ‘easy’ difficulty modes for those who want a more…casual gameplay experience.

Some consider Dark Souls 3 to be among the more manageable Dark Souls installments, but for those who want to take things more ‘easy’, we now have this interesting new mod from modder ‘Zethras’. As mentioned above, the mod package contains three difficulty settings, including easy difficulty, very easy, and ultra-easy. Each preset will change Soul gain, damage taken, and damage output accordingly. The presets are as follows:

Easy:+25% soul gain, -25% damage taken, +25% damage done
VeryEasy: +50% soul gain, -50% damage taken, +50% damage done
UltraEasy: +75% soul gain, -75% damage taken, +75% damage done

“All the above changes have been carried over to every NG cycle, keeping the same balance of the main game”, the modder explains. “Which, in other words, means that if an enemy did 100 damage with a sword strike and gave 1000 souls upon dying, while dealing 200 damage and giving 2000 souls in NG+, if you use, say, the ultra easy version of this mod that same enemy will inflict 25 damage and give 1750 souls on standard game, and will deal 50 damage with 3500 souls given upon death in NG+. Same goes for NG+2 onwards.”

It’s an interesting mod for those wanting to re-experience this gem in a more casual way or for those who couldn’t get into FromSoftware’s 2016 game due to difficulty reasons.

Dark Souls 3 PC players who want to give this mod a spin can download it from Nexusmods. As always, be sure to follow the provided installation instructions before using this mod.

Dark Souls 3 is available globally now for PC and consoles. We reviewed the game upon release and praised its difficulty, its amazing atmosphere, and improved visuals. “My journey through Lothric to meet with the Lords of Cinder took me through unforgettable vistas and resulted in more than a few sleepless nights where all I could think about was pushing through another corridor, seeking out another bonfire”, Dave Aubrey wrote in his 2016 review. “It’s an experience that the established Souls fans already know they can’t miss, while for those curious about Dark Souls, eager to discover what all the hype is about, this is the perfect starting point. It might not be everyone’s favorite Souls game, but it just might be mine and I can guarantee that Dark Souls III will dominate more than a few Game of the Year lists in 2016.”
