David Beckham, 47, could scarcely stop smiling as he attended the much-awaited World Cup finale, featuring a tense showdown between Argentina and France.
Posing in a brown suit jacket with a caramel coloured polka dot tie, he sat by the side of his son Cruz, who modelled a black blazer and burgundy tie for the event in Doha, Qatar.
David became one of the official ambassadors for Qatar this year, and seemed to be enjoying some sightseeing as he and Cruz wandered in the city’s souks.
It was a close call at the match, with Argentina and France initially drawing at 3-3, but it was Argentina that won the penalty, scoring 4-2, provoking rapturous applause.
Meanwhile, it seemed clear where former Real Madrid star David’s loyalties lay, after he posted a touching tribute to Argentine player Lionel Messi, and tagged his nearest and dearest in a pitch-side photo declaring that it was “one to share with the family”.
