Developer Soleil and publisher 110 Industries have announced via a brand new trailer that Wanted: Dead will be pushed back from its previously planned Q4 2022 release to next year. It will launch for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC on February 14th, 2023.
The new release date of Wanted: Dead was announced by the game’s official Twitter account with a short message, saying ” Not a day goes by without thinking of you. Today, we gather the courage to ask you out for a date. The 14th of February 2023 seems like a lovely time. Let’s treat ourselves with tasty decapitations this Valentine’s Day.” Although the developer team did not specifically outline the reason behind the delay, it’s likely that releasing Wanted: Dead this year would not give Soleil enough time to polish the game to its true potential.
Wanted: Dead was previously planned to release in Q4 of 2022, but will now join the long list of recently delayed titles, which includes the likes of Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Hogwarts Legacy, Evil West, and Lord of the Rings: Gollum. Inspired by Bayonetta and the Devil May Cry series, the upcoming hack and slash game offers a frantic, fast-paced melee combat system in which players can create electrifying combos by ranging their moves and abilities. Players will take the role of a member of an elite police squad that aims to uncover a Major conspiracy, named Lt. Hannah Stone. In addition to more than 50 finishing moves, there will be a wide array of weapon options, including assault rifles, grenade launchers, and SMGs. According to the developer team, Wanted: Dead aims to blend 90’s retro-futurism and today’s modern twist with an exhilarating beat ’em-up style, tasking players with using everything around in combat to proceed further. Set in a cyberpunk world, the game features frequent violence and gory combat that we are used to seeing in Bayonetta and the Devil May Cry games.
