Digimon Survive is a unique approach to the incredibly popular Digimon franchise in the world of video games, and hopefully, the release date is only a day away from us.
Digimon Survive will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on July 29. Unfortunately, there is no official release time for the game yet, but the Nintendo Switch version will likely be available at 9 am PT/12 pm ET in North America.
The main reason why we can’t access the release time of the game is the fact that it is not available for pre-order in any of the official platform-related stores, however, you can still pre-purchase the game if you are interested.
Digimon Survive can only be pre-ordered through its official domain on Bandai Namco, which will give you a number of options. You can either pre-order Digimon Survive directly from the Bandai Namco Store, or you can buy it from third-party retailers such as Amazon or GameStop.
To be honest, it is a little bit weird that the game is not available for pre-order on Steam, Microsoft Store, Nintendo Store, or PlayStation Store, that being said, Digimon Survive will be added to all of these aforementioned stores once it launches.
As a visual novel, Digimon Survive features various tactical and survival elements, where your decisions will have a direct impact on the story’s outcome as well as the destiny of in-game characters. Aside from choosing what to do and what to say in the game, there will be some other activities in Digimon Survive such as optional missions to train your Digimons or optional hang-out opportunities that let you talk to multiple characters on your own and discover more about each one of them.
Also, the game will feature some “Search Action” phases where you need to find a way out of critical situations to survive. Gameplay-wise, the developers have tried to make Digimon Survive something more than a simple visual novel, which adds up to the replayability of the experience.
There is no native next-gen version of Digimon Survive for PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, however, the game might receive an enhancement update for new consoles after launch.
