Donnie Yen Would ‘Love to Do a John Wick Spinoff Centered Around Caine’

Donnie Yen, who plays Caine, a blind assassin in Lionsgate’s John Wick: Chapter 4, has expressed interest in doing a spinoff revolving around his character.

Yen told Variety, “I’d love to do a ‘John Wick’ spinoff centered around Caine.” When asked about the likelihood of that happening, he responded “There’s always ‘talks’ in Hollywood.”

One of the main things stopping him, however, is scheduling because of a media company he and his wife run in China.

Although nothing has been confirmed regarding a Yen-led John Wick spinoff, Lionsgate has already greenlit a few. Those include the spinoff film Ballerina, with Ana de Armas as the lead, and a show named The Continental that Peacock has picked up for a multi-year deal.

Not much is known about either project. But we do know that the Ballerina will focus on de Armas’ character getting revenge for the murder of her family, and The Continental will be a prequel to the series.
