Dwayne Johnson Teases the Return of Henry Cavill’s Superman in Upcoming DC Film

Following a tedious amount of waiting for DC fans, the Dwayne Johnson-led Black Adam film will finally arrive later this month.

With less than two weeks to go for its release, the film’s cast and crew have gone into overdrive with its marketing and promotions. This is largely true for Dwayne Johnson, who has been on a tear with several interviews, where he talks about the character he has so longed to play on the silver screen.

Judging by the looks of the trailer, Johnson’s character is undeniably the strongest force the DCEU has seen in a long time. However, he has a major competitor in the strength department, and it’s none other than the Kryptonian in Superman.

The most recent iteration of the character played by Henry Cavill, debuted in the Zack Snyder-directed Man of Steel. However, following a strong early run with the DCEU, fans have yet to see Cavill wear the cape once again following the release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League last year.

While several reports suggested that the British actor might not don the suit once again, it seems like Johnson might be bringing back Cavill as soon as Black Adam, which opens in theatres on October 21.

In his most recent interview with Jake Hamilton, the actor noted that Black Adam is the strongest character in DC’s version of Earth. However, he also teased the presence of Superman, with a rumored appearance for the character in the upcoming film.

Johnson further stated that he has already visualized how Black Adam’s matchup against Superman will go, with the actor even believing that the former would land the first punch.

If Superman is indeed appearing in Black Adam, it’s very likely that the character will be used to tease a potential battle in the future, and it will be interesting to see if the wishes of fans do become true after all.
