Finally, if someone would like to stop receiving their benefit they will need to contact the DWP to inform them.

If a person fails to report a change or mistake on their Attendance Allowance claim they could be paid too much and have to pay some of it back and they could have to pay a penalty fine of £50.

To report any changes, people can contact the Attendance Allowance helpline on 0800 731 0122.

The DWP has warned that the helpline will be closed from Monday, December 26 to Wednesday, December 28 and Monday 2 January 2023, and people should contact the department before these dates if they need to report something urgent.
