Microsoft has released a list of best Xbox games of 2022. While some were made available on game pass, others were made available for purchase on the Xbox store. The games belong to multiple genres including action, mystery and horror, among others.
“Xbox has continued to add titles throughout 2022 to ensure that your console always has the pick of the best, new games. As 2022 comes to an end, here are the top picks that you’ll want to get your hands on to wrap up the year,” the company said. Here is a list of the top games curated by Microsoft.
Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels
It is the “favourite racing game of the year,” and it has been specially enhanced for Xbox Series X/S. It offers photorealistic graphics and detailing that sets the tone for next-gen gaming. Gear up for a thrilling ride.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
It allows the gamers to play as Eivor: a Viking warrior who seeks to establish a new home for his clan in mediaeval England. Players search for quests and treasure, hunt down Templar agents, build their arsenal and settlement, travel in a longship and raid monasteries.
Sea of Thieves
Gamers can sail the open seas as a pirate with fellow shipmates, looting islands, tackling a gigantic kraken and sinking other ships.
Grounded
The survival game gets new creatures and locations putting gamers’ skills to the test. It features a shrunken teenager in search of a way to return to normal size.
Halo Infinite
Halo Infinite offers an open-world map along with more movement in combat set and a list of activities.
Gears 5
Packed with horror, action and power, Gears 5 is a third-person shooter game and is a direct sequel to Gears of War 4. It continues the story of the Coalition of Ordered Government’s (COG) fight against an enemy force called the Swarm.

Microsoft Flight Simulator tests gamers’ piloting skills while flying light planes and wide-body jets in dynamic atmospheres. The game offers over 37 thousand airports, 2 million cities and 1.5 billion buildings.
Elden Ring
The game of the year is set in a Norse mythology-inspired place called Lands Between sometime after the titular ring shatters. Gamers play as one of the outsiders, known as the Tarnished, who are called back to Lands Between to find all the ring’s shards (known as the Great Runes), defeat the demigods who possess them and become the Elden Lord.

The game allows the gamers to play from the perspective of the antagonist or even the victim. It offers single-player and the eight-player mode.
Pentiment
A murder mystery RPG game, Pentiment is inspired by mediaeval art and allows gamers to shape your character into anything from a pious theologian to a rebellious hooligan in 16th-century Italy.
