Twitter is undergoing a ton of turmoil since Elon Musk completed his acquisition of the popular microblogging platform.

Following the massive layoffs that saw several Twitter employees without a job, the company is now looking to rehire many of them who were let go without any prior notice.

The layoffs took place in several divisions, which includes Twitter Gaming as well. According to The Washington Post, Musk has fired the entire marketing team of Twitter Gaming, which mostly promoted gaming companies and influencers on the platform. Since then, the popular Twitter account hasn’t tweeted, which has over a million followers.

Along with the in-house departments at Twitter, it’s been reported that Twitter is also laying off several of its contracted employees around the globe.

The firing of these employees seems to be taking place quite similarly to the layoffs at the start of the month, with many of them reportedly losing access to Slack and email.

According to Platformer’s Casey Newton, the company has reportedly let go of nearly 4,400 of its 5,500 contracted employees from teams handling ‘content moderation, real estate, and marketing among others.’ It’s been stated that these layoffs will massively affect several elements of the platform, which includes ‘content moderation and the core infrastructure services that keep the site up and running.’
