“We spoke earlier in the season about how many goals he was going to score – there’s no stopping him. If he got 50 plus I don’t think anyone is going to question his contribution,” Lescott said when reflecting on Haaland’s performance.
“There’s been some ridiculous comments made about are they worse off with him in the team? I don’t see how a man that scores this volume of goals could be making any team worse off.”
Fellow BT pundit Rio Ferdinand added: “Listen, we could talk about his ability and the amount of goals, but the thing that screams at you when you sit here and watch him live is his hunger. There’s a hunger and desire above everything else you have to respect.”
