The European Forest Institute present 12 questions about forests in the EU – here are the answers and the facts.
A solid and holistic understanding of the different roles played by forests is necessary to develop policies that help maximize synergies and minimize trade-offs between different forest uses. This video brings together the key research findings in the form of 12 questions on EU forests and their benefits to society. It aims to educate many people, not forest experts, about some of the many contributions of forests to EU policy objectives. Also because of the recent discussions in the EU, the EFI (European Forest Institution) has selected the following areas in particular: bioeconomy, civil protection, climate protection and adaptation to climate change, forestry, impact on global forests and nature conservation.
