After full-time, Wickham told BBC Sport: “I didn’t feel 100 per cent. I’ve been ill all last week, but we knew coming here we had to put in a performance, and it was going to just be one of those games. We knew what they were going to be about, and they put us under a lot of pressure to be fair, especially in the second half. But I think we needed that cushion at the end…

“I’ve wanted to try it for a while now. I could see three or four times during the game that the ‘keeper was dead high, so far off his line. And there I thought, ‘I’m not going to beat three people, and he’s off his line. so why not try it and see what happens?’ And thankfully, it was perfection.”
