Exclusive: Alia Bhatt described her relationship with Ranbir as ‘walking on stars and clouds’
After years of dating, power couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are getting married. Today, the actors will marry and become husband and wife. The couple’s Mehendi ceremony took place on Wednesday, and their family and closest friends were present at their Mumbai home, Vastu. There had been a lot of speculation about Ranbir and Alia’s wedding date, but the groom’s mom Neetu Kapoor confirmed it on Wednesday night. Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni spoke to the media and informed them that the wedding will take place on April 14. This provided fans with the answers they had been looking for about when their favorite couple would finally become husband and wife.
While we wait on the adorable pictures, here is what Alia said about their relationship in an exclusive throwback interview with Filmfare. She was asked if being in this relationship was tough as compared to her previous ones.
Alia’s answer just showed how much love she had for her beau: “No. It’s not a relationship. It’s a friendship. I’m saying this with all genuineness and honesty. It’s beautiful.” The actress compared their relationship to ‘walking on stars and clouds’ as she further continued. “I’m walking on stars and clouds right now. The best part is that we’re two individuals, who are living our own professional lives in their full form right now. He’s shooting continuously. So am I. It’s not a situation where you’ll see us constantly together. That’s the true mark of a comfortable relationship. Nazar na lage. In fact, there’s a beautiful book titled My Brilliant Friend. Ranbir’s my brilliant friend.”
As the wedding festivities got underway, Alia and Ranbir’s Brahmastra team sent congratulatory messages to the couple. As a gift for the two of them, romantic stills from Brahmastra were revealed for their fans, along with a preview of the song Kesariya. Brahmastra is their first film together, and it will be released in theatres on September 9th of this year.
