Samsung’s Galaxy S23 lineup expectedly would come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, ditching its in-house chipset, purportedly the Exynos 2300. There were also rumours of Samsung shelving Galaxy S22 FE, but that is happening as per the latest rumours, and it could be powered by the same Exynos 2300, that could have been inside the Galaxy S23 series.
Galaxy S22 FE and Tab S8 FE may come with Exynos 2300
A tipster who goes by the name RGCloudS on Twitter suggests that there “might” be a second Galaxy Unpacked event in 2023, where Samsung could announce the alleged Galaxy S22 FE, which may come with the Exynos 2300. Moreover, there could also be a Galaxy Tab S8 FE, which the Exynos 2300 chipset may also power.
Another tipster has suggested that the Galaxy S22 FE will be launching in 2023, alongside the Galaxy Buds 2 Live. The Galaxy S22 FE will reportedly replace the Galaxy A74, which as per recent reports have been shelved.
Exynos 2300 may offer optimised OneUI performance
A rumour suggests that Exynos 2300 will have four high-performance cores, four power-efficient cores and a special core. The special CPU core could be a Cortex-M core, meant to keep performance smooth and take care of OneUI performance. The Exynos 2300 has reportedly scored 4,500 points in a multi-core CPU test of Geekbench.
There have been rumours of Samsung putting off the Exynos 2300 in favour of the Exynos 2400, which would have been released in 2024. But, now the chipset could be used in the Galaxy S22 FE, which was also once reportedly cancelled.
The Galaxy S22 FE is said to come with a 108MP camera, which would be a huge upgrade compared to the 12MP camera of the Galaxy S21 FE.
