Ralf Schumacher has claimed FIA officials should be ashamed over their handling of the Australian Grand Prix.
The former F1 star race stewards should have predicted chaos before deciding to throw a late red flag.
The race was restarted with just three laps remaining but was immediately halted after a series of accidents at turn one.
“Rules are one thing, foresight is another. They could have used a safety car to avoid chaos.
In Australia, you can expect chaos on a restart this late in the Grand Prix. The first chicane is very fast.
“Everyone wants to improve their position and go for dangerous moves in the first corner due to too much motivation. I know what I’m talking about. Race management should be ashamed.”
