Four-time F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel has hinted that he could U-turn on his retirement from the sport in 2024.

The German bid an emotional farewell last year, but his former team, Aston Martin, have suddenly become highly competitive with Fernando Alonso achieving podiums in all three of his races so far.

“I think it’s very difficult to know what will happen next year,” admitted Vettel when speaking at a media event for environmental project Bio Bienen Apfel.

“I’m happy for [Alonso]. I think there were actually many years where he didn’t have a good car, and yes, now he’s living that second spring or honeymoon.”
