Facebook Messenger 4 Launched, Introducing a Simplified and Overhauled Design

Facebook has now launched the Messenger 4, an updated version of the messaging app. The company claimed that it will introduce a simplified and overhauled design, and some new feature adding an aesthetic value into the app. The app has launched today, and it will become globally available over the coming weeks.

The Facebook Messenger 4 update followed the response of people on a survey conducted Facebook. In its survey, the company has found out that 71% of the respondent’s top priority in a messaging app is simplicity. It means an efficient application bringing the simple function is the best priority.

The company has put a hard work on bringing the application back from what it was really before, a simple chat service. Stan Chudnovsky, the VP of Messenger, claimed that Messenger 4 is a “new, simplified” version of the app.  From about eight or nine different tabs, it is now simplified and cut down into three.

The conversation is now quickly accessible through the “Chats” tab. The Quick access to the camera for sharing photos and video chats is also included. Under the new “People” tab, users can find friends, see who is active, and watch people’s Stories. On the other hand, the new “Discover” tab will show you businesses to get deals, play games, follow news stories, and a lot more.

Aside from the simplified tabs, the conversation is now customizable using color gradients. With the color gradients option, you can be used multiple colors for chat bubbles, and the colors will dynamically change when you scroll up and down a conversation.

Facebook has also teased their plans to roll out a Dark Mode feature, a cool feature, especially at night.  As we have mentioned above, Messenger is now rolling out, but it will only become available over the coming weeks.  Stay tuned with TechnoCodex to be always updated.
