FFVII Remake director teases even more new FFVII projects

‘That started up after the remake’

Want more FFVII projects? So does Square Enix! While it was obvious that they were coming at some point, a new Twitter tease makes it real.

Sent by Yoshinori Kitase (producer) and Tetsuya Nomura (who is the creative director on the remake project, and co-directed the first “part”), it marks the 35th overall anniversary of Final Fantasy, and the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII. Like, literally just Final Fantasy VII is 25 years old now. Yikes!

Kitase himself even refers to it as something he always thought of as a “recent game,” and is now considered a classic entry. He recalls the recent Japanese poll that voted it as the third most popular game of all time, and then talks about the newness of it, including the FFVII projects Remake and First Soldier.

Nomura chimes in and says that he’s grateful for the fans that have accumulated over these past few decades and change, and reminds us that Ever Crisis exists. But he also drops a note at the end:

“And there will be even more new FFVII projects that started up after the remake coming in the future too.”

It’s obvious when you say it out loud, but it’s nice to hear it fully confirmed anyway in a clear format that isn’t an errant translated Japanese interview in a strategy guide.
