Flash calls verification method arrives on WhatsApp

WhatsApp usually asks users to enter a six digit verification code sent on the given phone number via SMS or call to verify users’ account. However, the company was rumoured to be working on another verification method called Flash Calls verification to ease up the process.
WABetainfo has now reported that the company has finally started rolling out the feature Android app only as the iOS does not provide a public API that allows apps to read the call history.
The Flash Calls verification is faster and does not require users to enter any verification code to authenticate their account. With the Flash Calls verification method, users will receive a call and then it will automatically disconnect and the verification process will be done and WhatsApp will then login into your account. You will also be able to see the phone number from which you received the call in the call history.
For Flash Calls verification feature to work, users will need to allow certain permissions to WhatsApp which includes call history access and call access.
Meanwhile, the company is also testing a couple of new features for its platform in beta. This includes the new group icon editor, ability to hide online status, last seen, etc from specific contacts and more.
