A confused Louise Minchin took to Twitter to asked her 286,000 followers to “explain” why she couldn’t DM “someone” that she used to be able to.

The former BBC Breakfast presenter penned: “Hi all, can anyone explain why I can’t DM someone that I used to be able to??”

She later tweeted: “Lol I think maybe they don’t follow me anymore.”

Before concluding with: “#Awkward”

Her fans rushed to her aid, as one responded to her first tweet: “Have they blocked you? Twitter have removed some of people’s followers without asking. The person may only accept messages from the people they follow.” (sic)

Other fans responded with a series of laughing emojis and funny gifs that demonstrated how awkward the situation was.

From 2006 to 2021, Louise was a resident on the iconic BBC red sofa, where she co-hosted BBC breakfast with Dan Walker.

Together with Nick Knowles and Chris Hollins, Louise is also well known for hosting Real Rescues.

Louise has been a frequent guest host on The One Show since 2010.

She has covered numerous significant breaking stories while working on the show. Three general elections and the Manchester bombings are a few of the events she’s covered.

The broadcaster and her spouse, David Minchin, had been childhood sweethearts and got married in 1998.

Her husband owns and operates a number of successful hospitality companies as an investor and restaurateur.

The couple share two daughters, Mia and Scarlett.

Louise has also written a book, titled ‘Dare to Tri: My Journey From The BBC Breakfast Sofa to GB Team’.
