Xbox Games Studios and Playground Games released the popular racing title Forza Horizon 5 in November last year. The game’s creators have now updated the official support page to announce a new update that will add a few resolution upscaling features to the PC version of Forza Horizon 5. With this update, PC gamers will be able to boost the framerates on the title even at the highest image quality by enabling Nvidia DLSS Super Resolution or AMD FSR 2.2.
The developers have also improved the DirectX ray-tracing implementation on PC with two new settings — Ultra and Extreme. These presets help in creating realistic reflections for the player’s car in Free Roam and Races. Moreover, it also produces better reflections of your Drivatar in Photo Mode and Ray tracing is also available in Forzavista.
Apart from this, new security improvements to the PC version of Forza Horizon 5 have also been introduced to promote a healthy and safe gameplay experience. These new features will arrive with the new update that is a part of the Donut Media series and can be downloaded via the Microsoft Store and Steam.

New temporal upscaling technologies
The developers have refreshed the Video options to provide more customisation and improvements to the anti-aliasing of the game. Forza Horizon 5’s new update also includes two new technologies for temporal upscaling — AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.2 and Nvidia’s DLSS Super Sampling.
The AMD upscaling tech can construct a 4K rendered image from a 1080p frame buffer in Performance mode to offer higher performance at higher resolutions. This tech works on all PC graphics cards including AMD, Nvidia and Intel.
Meanwhile, Nvidia’s technology supports AI-powered resolution upscaling and is only available on the company’s RTX series graphics cards. It also offers a similar performance as the AMD tech.

Ray tracing improvements
Two new settings (Ultra and Extreme) for ray tracing quality have been added to the game while the Medium and High presets remain unchanged. The lower settings offer ray tracing only in Forzavista, while the new Ultra and Extreme options have expanded the feature to Photo Mode, Free Roam and Races. These ray-tracing settings will also render reflections at different resolutions.
The blog post also mentions the minimum and ideal PC specs that are required to enable these visual improvement features.
