Many side quests, known as Favors, are available in God of War Ragnarok. One of them, Born From Fire, requires you to destroy all the six Draugr Holes scattered across the Nine Realms. Each successfully closed Draugr Hole rewards you with a Chaos Spark, and upon gathering all six of them, you get a Chaos Flame that lets you upgrade the Blades of Chaos.

Every Draugr Hole hides a miniboss called The Hateful, and you must defeat it to clean the area. You might find it challenging at first, but it will be much easier after you find an effective strategy. This guide lists all the Draugr Hole locations in God of War Ragnarok, along with tips and tricks on beating The Hateful.

SPOILER ALERT: This guide contains spoilers of late-game areas.

How to Defeat The Hateful in God of War Ragnarok

The Hateful is a tough miniboss you will encounter six times in the game if you want to destroy all the Draugr Holes in God of War Ragnarok. You must defeat it to close each hole; otherwise, you won’t be able to complete the Born From Fire Favor and get the Chaos Flame as a reward.

You should act wisely against this enemy, as it can give you a hard time, especially at higher difficulty levels. The Hateful moves and attacks fast, and you must be prepared to dodge and deflect most of its offensives. You can use your shield to parry when the miniboss throws flaming projectiles at you. This will make you send the attack back to your enemy, dealing some damage.

The Hateful will also summon several minions that will attack you; make sure you defeat them first so you can entirely focus on the miniboss after them. Also, don’t forget to call for your companion’s help during the fight. You can do that by pressing the Square button, and Atreus will throw his arrows toward the enemies.

Pay attention to stronger, more dangerous, red attacks The Hateful may direct at you. You will notice them because of the red ring around the enemy. These offensives cannot be blocked, so you’ll need to dodge them in time. Otherwise, you will get a massive amount of damage. Take some time to learn its attack patterns to have an easier time with the next fights. After all, you must defeat the miniboss six times to complete this secondary quest.
