Masters contender Harold Varner III has delivered a fiery broadside to his fellow LIV Golf rebels ahead of the famous major at Augusta National.

Varner is one of 18 players now aligned with the controversial Saudi-backed league who will stroll the iconic Georgia course this weekend in the hunt for the green jacket.

He signed in August for a joining fee reportedly close to $30 million, and wasn’t shy about admitting his intentions for jumping ship were purely money-based.

The 2023 Masters Tournament will be live on Nine from April 7-10 and on 9Now from April 6.

“The truth is, my life is changing,” he wrote on Instagram at the time.

“The opportunity to join LIV Golf is simply too good of a financial breakthrough for me to pass by.

“I know what it means to grow up without much. This money is going to ensure that my kid and future Varners will have a solid base to start on.”

Varner, 32, is not on the same page as some of the other LIV rebels, namely Phil Mickelson, who have maintained their motivation is bettering the lives and careers of professional golfers, and progressing the sport.

The fiery American called out his colleagues for denying they are driven by the astronomical pay cheques on offer.

“They’re full of s—,” Varner told The Washington Post.

“I tell them all the time, all of them, you didn’t come here to f—ing grow the game.”

While some LIV players have bemoaned being barred from the PGA Tour, Varner is comfortable with the position he’s put himself in.

LIV players are still permitted to contest the four majors, which are all run independently.

“If you said I can’t play in the majors, I’d be fine,” Varner said.

“I’ve accepted that. I was cool with it.

“But some of these motherf—ers want their cake and eat it too.

“Like, dude, you knew it was going to be bad. Like going against the US government. Good luck man.”
