Golovkin fans left perplexed as Kazakh singer ‘lip-synchs’ national anthem in Canelo fight | Boxing | Sport
Fans have accused Kazakh singer, Dimash Kudaibergen, of ‘lip synching’ the Kazakstan national anthem ahead of the Gennady Golovkin vs Canelo Alvarez III walkouts. Canelo won the trilogy bout via unanimous decision with scorecards of 116-112, 115-113, and 115-13 but his performance was not the main talking point on social media afterwards.
Many fans and members of the media were left less than convinced by the Kazakh singer’s rendition of Menin Qazaqstanym (My Kazahkstan). Esteemed boxing journalist Dan Rafael (DanRafael1) tweeted: “Worst job ever of lip synching a national anthem. #CaneloGGG3.”
American rapper Baby Bash (@BabyBash) wrote: “Man your not supposed to Lip Sync a National Anthem are you?? That Golovkin anthem looked sus #CaneloGGG3.”
@SalCano73561477 added: “Glad they didn’t show GGG, he was probably embarrassed.”
