New Gmail, Chat features: Availability
The three new Gmail search features are now available for all Google Workspace customers, legacy G Suite Basic and Business users along with users with personal accounts.
Google Chat’s search suggestions feature is already available on Android devices and it will be rolled out to all iOS devices by the end of October.
New Gmail, Chat features: Details
As per the updated blog post by Google, Chat’s search suggestions feature will show search-query suggestions based on the users’ past search history as they type in the Chat search bar. This will help them to revisit important messages, files, and more on mobile.
Gmail labels are now available on both Android and iOS devices and are expected to arrive on the web soon. This feature helps users search messages under a specific Gmail label which return results only within that particular label. Label searches can be refined using the search chips in the search bar.
Meanwhile, the Related results feature is now available on the web and may be added to the mobile app later. This feature is for Gmail search queries that return no results. Gmail will show Related results to improve the overall search experience.
