Google is set to shutting down its Google Fit service on the web. Google has made an announcement this week to shut down the Google Fit service on the web, continuing to provide its best service on Android and Wear OS. Google is working hard to provide the best of Google Fit on Android and Wear OS as they had already pushed a new material design for Google Fit on Android and Wear OS back in August 2018 showing their keen focus on the Android platform. But now, they have decided to pull back its service on the web showing a quote on the official website.

Google Fit is dedicated to coaching you to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle, and making healthy behavior changes easier to achieve. In the last year, we redesigned Google Fit with new activity goals based on the American Heart Association and World Health Organization physical activity recommendations, added guided breathing and home screen widgets, and hosted a New Year 30-day challenge. As we continue to focus efforts on adding new capabilities that enhance the mobile and smartwatch Google Fit experience, we’ll be turning off this Google Fit website on 19 March 2019. To keep tracking your activities and get coaching toward your health goals, install the Fit app on your Android phone or Wear OS smartwatch.

Google Fit Web Sutting Down

So, from the above quote, it is clear that the tech giant will be no longer delivering its Fit service on the Web. Google Fit service on the web was quite as it shows all your recent activities on a larger screen with a more detailed view. It even shows your long-term monthly statistics which is not shown on the Android or Wear OS.

According to Google, they will be adding some more capabilities in the Google Fit app on Android and on Wear OS in the upcoming updates. You may have also seen some great features added in the Google Fit app in the recent updates like home screen widgets, and also breathing exercises on Gear. So overall, Google is all set to improve its Fit service on Android and Wear OS and will be discontinuing this service on the web.
