Google Pixel fans, your long wait is over. Google Pixel 6a is finally in India. Google has announced that its latest A-series smartphone – the all-new Google Pixel 6a – is coming to India as part of the global launch. The search giant is launching Pixel series phones in India after 2 years. Google launched Pixel 4a in India in 2020. However, Pixel 5 series and Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro did not launch in India.
Google Pixel 6a price and availability in India
Google Pixel 6a can be pre-ordered at a starting price of Rs 39,9991 (MRP Rs 43,999) in India starting today (July 20). The smartphone will be available for purchase on Flipkart in India from July 28 onwards. The smartphone comes only in a single storage variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

Pixel 6a is powered by Google’s own Tensor chipset, the first-ever chip designed by the company. It is the same chipset that also powers the premium Pixel 6 series phones — Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Google Pixel 6a has a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with 60Hz refresh rate. The screen comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating. There’s 4,306mAh battery with support for fast charging. Pixel’s interface, Material You allows users to extensively personalise the look and feel of their phones.
For photos, users get a 12.2-megapixel wide-angle and 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera at the back. At the front, there’s an 8-megapixel punch hole camera.
Pixel 6a comes with the best camera features offered by Pixel series phones. These include Night Night Sight and Magic Eraser. Night Sight makes low-light photography a breeze. Magic Eraser in Google Photos makes distractions disappear.
Pixel 6a comes with speech recognition features including Recorder, Live Caption, and Live Translate. It comes with an Adaptive Battery that claims to last over 24 hours and up to 72 hours when in the Extreme Battery Saver mode — a first for Pixel phones. In India, Pixel 6a is available in two classic, yet modern colours – Charcoal and Chalk.
Google Pixel 6 OS updates
Pixel 6a will receive five years of security updates, alongside the latest features and updates, introduced by Google. Pixel 6a will also be among the first Android devices to receive the upcoming Android 13 update.
