Google Pixel 7a likely to launch next year: Here’s what the smartphone may offer

Google recently launched its flagship smartphones — Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The company is now gearing up for the launch of the new Pixel 7a smartphone. A new online leak has revealed that the upcoming mid-range Pixel smartphone is said to come with multiple upgrades. The yet-to-launch smartphone is said to come with an improved camera, ceramic body and wireless charging support.
As reported by 9to5Google, Google Pixel 7a is codenamed as ‘Lynx’. The upcoming smartphone is said to launch in 2023 and is tipped to come with a flagship grade camera, wireless charging and more. Google Pixel 7a is said to be powered by the Tensor G2 chipset. This is the same chipset which powers the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.
The smartphone is tipped to sport a ceramic body. This will be the first Google smartphone to come with a ceramic body. Google Pixel 7a is said to come with a wireless charging chip – P922 and is said to support 5W charging.
Google is also expected to include a telephoto lens in the Pixel 7a. This will be the first smartphone of the series to come with a telephoto lens. The smartphone is tipped to feature a 6.1-inch display and pack 6GB of RAM. The upcoming smartphone is likely to be backed by a 4410mAh battery and 8MP front shooter.
Recently, Google revealed that both Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are the first Android smartphones to support only 64-bit apps. Google started introducing 64-bit support in 2014 and subsequently announced policy changes in 2017. Google made it mandatory for Google Play apps to offer 64-bit support starting 2019. The standard reduces memory usage, improves performance and enhances security.
