Google unveiled its first smartwatch Pixel Watch last week at the company’s annual hardware event. The Pixel Watch is presently available in nine countries and is priced at $349. Now Google has announced Pixel Watch will get at least three years of updates.
Google has announced that the smartwatch powered by Wear OS will get three years of updates. The update period will start from the time the smartwatch will be available on the Google Store in the US. The company further added that the first-generation Pixel Watch will get guaranteed software updates till October 2025. Google mentions that the software updates will include security patches and feature drops.
“Google Pixel Watch will get updates for at least three years from when the device first became available on the Google Store in the US. Software updates include Google Pixel Watch security updates, and may include feature drops and other software updates,” posted Google on its support page.

The smartwatch features a circular 3D domed glass and is made of stainless steel. The smartwatch sports a digital crown like button which can be used to access apps and much more. The water-resistant wearable packs 32GB of internal stoarge.
Google Pixel Watch comes with a claimed battery life of up to 24 hours and can be charged to 50% in just 30 minutes. Google Pixel Watch is equipped with an Emergency SOS feature to alert emergency responders or trusted contacts. Fall detection is also coming to Pixel Watch but only next year. The ECG app on the Pixel Watch can detect signs of Atrial Fibrillation (A-Fib).
Google says that the Fitbit experience is completely redesigned for Google Pixel Watch. Users will get 40 exercise modes, there’s a built-in GPS and a feature called Active Zone Minutes.
