Gotham Knights, the highly anticipated video game based on DC Comics characters and storylines, is set to release this year. DC and Warner Bros. Montreal have already given us a sneak peek at the four main protagonists of the game with dedicated character trailers for each of them. Now, the developers have released a new trailer for Gamescom 2022, and this one shows off a few of the antagonists you’ll meet in the game.
The new trailer reveals new antagonists for the Bat Family like Clayface and Harley Quinn, while showing more of Mr Freeze, Penguin and the Court of Owls. Harley Quinn, Clayface and Penguin get the most coverage in the trailer. Also, there’s a brief look at Renee Montoya, who most probably will team up with the four protagonists to restore order to Gotham City.
Apart from introducing these antagonists, the trailer also gives us a new release date. Gotham Knights is now set to release on October 21, four days earlier than its previous release date, i.e. October 25. In the game, you can play as any of the four members of the Bat Family–Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin or Red Hood– plus they can also go in together with a friend in co-op.
Three editions of the game will be available upon launch– Standard, Deluxe and Collector’s– on PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S and PC. You can go ahead and pre-order the game before it comes out.
It’s been a very long time since a Batman game came out. Though Gotham Knights does not feature the Caped Crusader as he is believed to be dead in this game universe, it does feature the extended crime-fighting family of Bruce Wayne and takes some heavy inspiration from the Arkham series of games by Rocksteady.
